Privacy Policy

Draft for review. This is a plain-language draft provided to help you get started. It is not legal advice; please have qualified legal counsel review and adapt it for your jurisdiction before launch.

Our commitment

WiseEnding exists to protect what matters most to you. We collect the minimum needed to run the Service, we never sell your data, and we give you control over who can see it and when.

1. Who we are and scope

This Policy explains what WiseEnding collects, how we use and protect it, and your rights. It applies to wiseending.com and the WiseEnding application.

2. Information we collect

Account information from Google sign-in: your name, email address, and profile photo.

Content you add: assets, debts, money owed to you, net-worth details, important records and uploaded documents (and, on paid plans, audio/video), trusted people and access rules, giving intentions, instructions, and letters.

Limited technical and usage data needed to operate and secure the Service (for example, device/browser information and security signals). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

3. How we use your information

We do not sell your data and we do not use your Content for advertising.

4. How we store and protect it

Your data is stored on Google Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure. It is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).

Access is isolated per user by security rules, so no other user can read your data. We apply app-integrity protection (App Check) and least-privilege access internally.

For especially sensitive fields and uploaded files, we are introducing end-to-end (client-side) encryption, where content is encrypted in your browser with a key derived from your passphrase — meaning we cannot read it. We will clearly indicate what is end-to-end encrypted.

5. When we share information

With the trusted people you choose — only what you designate, and only under the release conditions you set (the Legacy Heartbeat).

With service providers who help us operate (for example, Google Firebase for hosting/auth and a payment processor for billing), under contracts that protect your data.

When required by law. We will never sell your personal data.

6. The Legacy Heartbeat

You decide the check-in rhythm, your beneficiaries, and what each receives. Beneficiaries verify their identity before any access is granted. Until your conditions are met, everything stays private and under your control, and you can change it at any time.

7. Your rights and choices

You can access, correct, export, or delete your information, and delete your account entirely, from within the app or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your Content from active systems (subject to limited legal/backup retention).

8. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete content or close your account, we delete it from active systems within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law.

9. Children

WiseEnding is not intended for anyone under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own by our infrastructure and service providers, with appropriate safeguards in place.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy; we’ll post the new version here and update the date above. Questions or requests? Contact us at privacy@wiseending.com.
